There is no obvious reason for a penguin to exist in Venetian glass, and that is exactly why it works. The shape is a gift to a glassmaker — a single smooth volume, black and white meeting in one clean line, no fussy details to distract from the material itself. The result is closer to modern sculpture than to a figurine.
