Ginko — Murano Glass Centerpiece
Ginko unfolds like something the sea left behind — a great ribbed fan of Murano glass, part scallop shell, part ginkgo leaf, sweeping seventy-five centimetres across in a single elegant curve. Its surface is pleated into fine radiating ribs that gather and release the light along their length, while the whole piece glows a soft, translucent amethyst, somewhere between rose and dusk.
A form like this is among the hardest things to make in glass: blown, opened and coaxed into a wide, thin fan entirely by hand, worked against gravity while the glass fights to fall — a feat only a master can carry off, and never twice the same way. Shaped on the island of Murano by artisans who have inherited seven centuries of Venetian glassmaking, every Ginko folds a little differently.
Low, wide and luminous, it is a centrepiece in the truest sense — the still, glowing heart of a dining table or console, left empty as pure sculpture or floating a candle or a single bloom. Available in two sizes, to suit your table.
