Venice traded with the East for eight hundred years, and the glassmakers of Murano learned early how to make colour behave like a coral reef. This tropical fish is that lesson at full volume: two colours worked into a single body, the join blurring where the glass was folded while molten, fins pulled thin enough to glow.

Standing thirty-five centimetres tall, it is a sculpture rather than an ornament — the piece that turns a console table or a shelf into something worth stopping for. Shaped entirely by hand at the furnace, so no two fish ever wear the same pattern.
