Contemporary Mirrors
In contemporary Murano glass mirrors the frame becomes a sculpture. Solid glass discs, faceted blocks, sweeping curves and bold colours — emerald, sapphire, amber, amethyst — reinterpret five centuries of Venetian mirror-making for modern interiors. The techniques remain traditional: the glass is shaped, cut and polished by hand, and every element is assembled individually.
Because each mirror is made to order, colours and sizes can be customised to match your palette — a statement piece above a sofa, a round mirror in an entrance, or a composition for a hotel lobby. Interior designers and architects will find project conditions on our trade programme page, while private clients can request a bespoke version through our custom service.
Contemporary Murano Mirrors
The same craft, a modern drawing
A contemporary Murano mirror keeps the hand work and drops the ornament: clean geometry, wide bands of coloured glass, occasionally a single blown element as punctuation. The colour is in the glass, not behind it, so it changes with the light through the day. These are the pieces for rooms where a classic Venetian frame would be too much and a plain mirror too little.
Placing it
A coloured frame reads as a graphic object, so give it a plain wall and space around it. Above a modern console or a low sideboard, keep the mirror to about two thirds of the furniture width; on a free wall, hang the centre at around 155–160 cm. If you want the frame to echo the room, colours can be matched to order through our bespoke service.
Frequently asked questions
Can I have it in a specific colour?
Usually yes — the glass is blown for the order, so colour can follow a fabric, a wall or a piece of furniture. Send us a photo or a reference through contact and we will tell you what the furnace can match.
Are shapes other than rectangular possible?
Round and oval formats are made regularly, and other shapes can be quoted. Tell us the measurements of the wall and we will come back with what is feasible and the timing.
Is it heavy?
Glass on a wooden backing always has weight. Each product page gives the dimensions, and we recommend professional fitting with anchors chosen for your wall type.
