Murano Glass Wall Sconces — 1 piece
Murano Glass Wall Sconces
A wall sconce is Venice at eye level. Where a chandelier commands the centre of a room, an applique works the edges — framing a mirror, lighting a stairwell, warming a hallway with the same hand-blown glass, at a scale that fits anywhere.
Ours are the wall companions to our chandeliers, sharing their names and their craft: from a single light to a generous five, from the classic Venetian form to full Rezzonico. Made to order in any colour — and beautiful in pairs, either side of a bed, a fireplace or a doorway.
Every piece arrives with a certificate of authenticity and fully insured worldwide shipping. Explore the matching Murano glass chandeliers or get in touch.
Choosing Murano Glass Wall Sconces
Light at eye level
A sconce does what a ceiling light cannot: it puts light at the height of a face, and a room lit at eye level feels warmer at once. Venetian sconces repeat the language of the chandelier — blown arms, hand-shaped flowers and leaves — at a scale that suits a corridor, a stairwell or the two sides of a mirror. Our guide to Venetian lighting compares the styles.
Height, spacing and pairs
As a rule, mount a sconce so its centre sits about 160–170 cm from the floor, roughly eye height, and keep 2–2.5 m between sconces along a wall. Flanking a mirror, place them level with the centre of the glass so faces are lit from the sides rather than above. Sconces can be made in the same colour run as a chandelier through our bespoke service, and should be installed by an electrician.
Frequently asked questions
Can I match them to a chandelier?
Yes, and it is one of our most frequent commissions: because the glass is blown to order, the workshop can keep chandelier and sconces in a single colour run. Write to us with the room and we will prepare a proposal.
Will they work outside Europe?
They are wired to European standards as supplied. Tell us your country before ordering and we will confirm the fittings together; where a local electrician needs to change them, we say so in advance.
Which bulbs should I use?
Warm white LED bulbs, around 2700 K. They run cool — which protects the glass — and keep the colours of the glass true. Use dimmable bulbs with a compatible dimmer if you want to lower the light.
