Mistici — Murano Glass Round Vase
Some thoughts rise in circles. Mistici — "the mystics" — holds one of them forever: a slender thread of deep blue climbing through aqua glass in a slow, perfect spiral, like a breath rising through still water. Towards the base the colour dissolves into clear crystal, so the coil seems to float mid-glass — suspended, untouchable, caught between water and air.
The spiral is not drawn on the surface: it lives inside the glass. While the body is still molten, a fine cane of blue is wound around it turn after turn — the spacing of each coil set by nothing but the maestro's breath and the speed of his turning hands — then sealed beneath a final veil of glass. It is a gesture descended from the island's centuries-old filigrana tradition, performed by masters who have inherited seven centuries of Venetian glassmaking. No two spirals ever climb at the same rhythm.
This low round companion lets the coil settle into a quiet orbit.
